Westborough Lions Award $1000 Scholarship to Nicole Farmer

WHS Senior Exhibits Strong Academics, Community Service, and Resiliency

Nicole Marie Farmer, daughter of David and Christine Farmer, of Westborough, has been awarded the Westborough Lions, $1000, Post-Secondary Education Scholarship for 2021. A senior at Westborough High School, Nicole was chosen for the award due to her strong academics, outstanding community service, and proven track record of resiliency in the face of adversity. Applicants were evaluated on these three components with a weighting of 15% for scholarship, 50% for community service, and 35% for overcoming an obstacle in achieving their goals. Because the Lions' motto is 'We Serve', a student's commitment to community service was key. The Lions often support members in our community with sight and hearing challenges, as well as other hurdles that folks navigate throughout their lives. Therefore, demonstrating resiliency in the face of adversity and overcoming obstacles in achieving goals were other key factors in determining the best candidate for the scholarship. The Westborough Lions are proud to support Nicole with her college career and wish her much success in all her future endeavors!
