Westborough Native Sandra Cook (Norton, Burnham), 79, Dies
Cook was an LPN/LVN, psych-tech nurse at Westborough State Hospital and a graduate of Westborough High School class of 1956.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — Sandra L. (Norton, Burnham) Cook, a native of Westborough, passed away on Friday June, 21. She was 79-year-old. She leaves behind her four loving children, 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter "Bunny" Norton Sr., her mother, Phyllis (Tappen) Norton, her brother Walter Norton Jr. , and is survived by her brother Phillip Norton.
Cook was a Westborough native who graduated from Westbroough High School with the class of 1956. She studied nursing at Quinsigamond Community College in the early 1970's, earning her LPN/LVN degree. She worked as a psych-tech nurse in Westborough State Hospital but her career eventually brought her out west to California. Out west she worked for the State of California, as a psych-tech for the criminally insane.
While in California she met her husband, Bill Cook, and married him in the mid 1980's. They were married for only one years before he passed away. When she decided to retire, she headed first for Indiana, to stay with her youngest daughter, Sherry, and spend time with her family.

As time went on, Cook couldn't stay away from her beloved hometown of Westborough, and moved back in 2002, this time with her son Richard. She spent her retired time in Westborough with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her daughter Robin said she was a regular at the Westborough Senior Center and credits the center with making her last few years enjoyable. Cook was a big crafter and especially had a knack for crocheting. Her family said she would frequently donate to worthy causes.
