Westborough PD Catch Dorchester Man Wanted On Warrant

The man was caught trying to scam money from a Shell gas station in Westborough, police said.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — A Dorchester man is facing several charges after he was caught in Westborough trying to scam money from a Shell gas station, according to Westborough police. The man, identified as Matthew Jones, is facing at least three traffic violation charges.

Westborough police officers were called to the Shell Gas Station located on Route 9 and Lyman Street on May 11 for a report of a man trying to scam money from the store. The store clerk told police the man had done the same thing to the store a week prior.

Officers on scene saw the man get into his car and leave the store and radioed other officers to be on the lookout for the car. Officers in the field stopped the car and found an active warrant for Jones' arrest out of Dorchester District Court.
