Westborough Police To Perform Pedestrian Safety Checks
Cross at the green, not in between.

WESTBOROUGH, MA — The Westborough Police Department will be performing Pedestrian & Crosswalk Safety checks over the next few weeks. The checks were made possible with funds from the Executive Office of Public Safety & Security. The department urges drivers to be mindful of pedestrians and bicyclists during your travels, especially in the rotary and downtown area.
The department offered several tips for both drivers and pedestrians to keep everyone safe on the roads.
Tips for Drivers
1. Always yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk.
2. When approaching a crosswalk, reduce your speed and prepare to stop.
3. When stopped at a crosswalk, allow enough room between your vehicle and the crosswalk so other drivers can see the pedestrians you have stopped for.
4. Do not pass vehicles stopped at a crosswalk.
