Westborough Public Library Presents Geocaching Program
Players use a GPS-enabled device to navigate to specific geographic coordinates, then try to find a geocache (some kind of container).

From Westborough Public Library: The Westborough Public Library will be presenting a program on Geocaching on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 7 p.m. as part of the adult summer reading program, “Build a Better World”. The program will be presented by the Gillins who are the author of the book, “The Joy of Geocaching”.
For those not familiar with the term, geocaching is a real-world outdoor treasure hunt. Players use a GPS-enabled device to navigate to specific geographic coordinates, then try to find the geocache (some kind of container) hidden there. Each geocache has a log book inside that you sign, and sometimes there are small items inside that you can take. Good geocache etiquette says if you take something from a cache you should leave something of equal or greater value inside.
The library has also just added a geocaching kit that you can borrow. The Library's Geocaching Kit includes a handheld Garmin eTrex 20x GPS device and a copy of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Geocaching. Staff have pre-loaded all the Westborough geocaches on the device, along with a number of caches in surrounding towns.Headed on vacation? Load up the device with your destination's geocaches and search for treasure while you're there!
