Westborough Rangers Take Little League District Title
These Little League 12 year olds won the first championship for the Rangers in 23 years.

WESTBOROUGH, MA—The Westborough 12-year-old All Star Team was victorious over Sturbridge 3-1 to clinch the District 5 Little League baseball championship on Friday.
While a few times have made the finals, this is the first time the Rangers have clinched this title in 23 years.
Highlights of the Westborough-Sturbridge showdown included Aidan Connors with a home run in the fifth inning, and strong pitching from starter Andrew Cerniglia and closer Joseph Marino. The team is coached by Blake Bentley, Tony Ponteni and Chip Dapolite.

The Westborough U12 All-Star Team Is: Nick Bellofatto, Carter Bentley, Andrew Cerniglia, Aidan Connors, Ethan Cox, Jake Dapolite, Joseph Marino, Connor McDermott, Marco Micucci, Trevor Potenti, George Proffit, Daniel Stroscio and A.J. Tarzia.
The Rangers take on Mansfield on Tuesday, July 17, at the Washington Street Field in Millbury in the sectionals tournament. Game time is still TBD.
