Westborough Rotary Club Awards Five Scholarships To Seniors

WESTBOROUGH, MA — The Westborough Rotary Club awarded five local seniors with scholarships. The scholarship program recognizes students who are contributing to the Rotary vision of a world where people unite and take action creating lasting change in our communities and across the globe.

The five students selected plan on attending schools that range from University of Maryland to New York University.

The Rotary Club says the students selected demonstrated strong academic achievement, leadership in school and community and spoke passionately about service as a key component of their post-high school experience.

"We congratulate all of these fine young people and wish them health and happiness in all of their future endeavors," the club said.

The recipients are as follows:

• Rhea Balasubramanian - New York University – Global Public Health
• Madison Bromm- Miami University of Ohio-Kinesiology / Elementary Ed.
• Carolyn McDermott- Fairfield University – Nursing
• Ryan Doan Nguyen- Harvard University -Government/pre-law
• Miara Sasdi-University of Maryland- Criminology/Criminal Justice
