Westborough Traffic Stop Leads To Gun, Drug Arrest
Police were ready to tow a man's car when they noticed he was insistent on grabbing his bag inside — the bag had a loaded gun in it.
WESTBOROUGH, MA — A Worcester man was arrested in Westborough on Thursday after a traffic stop.
The stop happened just before 3 a.m. on Route 9 West in near Green Thumb. Westborough police said an officer on duty in the area saw a car speed past. When the driver was stopped, the officer ran his license and plates and found that the driver's license was suspended.
The driver, a Worcester man, was ordered out of the car and officers were ready to have the car towed when they noticed he was insistent on getting his backpack in the backseat. According to police, the backpack in the car had a loaded gun inside it.

The man was arrested and faces several charges including illegal possession of a firearm and possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance.
