Westborough Votes More Than Double Last Midterm Election
Westborough's votes aligned with much of the state, going for Baker for Governor, and Warren for Senator. Here are the results.

WESTBOROUGH, MA—Westborough voters, and there were 7,912 of you this time around, also went with Charlie Baker for Massachusetts governor and Elizabeth Warren for U.S. Senator, along with most of the state. In both cases for Westborough, the winner garnered nearly double the votes.
Of the 12,489, 7,912 represents 63 percent of the registered voters in town who cast ballots in the midterm election on Tuesday. In 2014, the last midterm election, of the 5,373 eligible voters in Westborough, 1,121 voted in the election, representing 21 percent.
Voters welcomed back Danielle Gregoire for state representative, beating Republican challenger Paul Ferro, 1,795 to 810. Ballots cast for longtime Congressman Jim McGovern in Westborough more than doubled for that of Tracy Lovvorn. Statewide, McGovern took the race at 67 percent to Lovvorn's 33 percent.

In Westborough, more than 3,000 more voted "no" on ballot question number 1, which also failed by a wide margin statewide. The proposal limited how many patients could be assigned to each registered nurse in hospitals and other healthcare facilities. The maximum number of patients per nurse would vary by type of unit and level of care. More than 70 percent voted "no" on ballot question number 1 statewide.
Ballot Question 3 concerned the country's first statewide referendum on transgender rights, passed in 2016 and signed into law by Gov. Charlie Baker. The law added the term "gender identity" to the list of groups protected against discrimination in places like hotels or stores, a list that now includes race, color, religious creed, national origin, sex disability and ancestry. A "yes" vote kept the law "as is." Westborough voted "yes" 5,665 to 2,048. The ballot question passed by nearly 70 percent statewide.
