Elevated Fire Weather Risk Sunday throughout Southern New England

Officials warn low relative humidities and strong wind gusts will result in elevated fire risk weather throughout the day Sunday.

Weather conditions Sunday will lead to a high risk of fire, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a special weather advisory warning of elevated fire risk weather throughout the day.

The warning is in effect from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service, relative humidities will drop to between 25 and 30 percent Sunday afternoon. When combined with the expected frequent wind gusts of 25 to 30 mph, this will result in elevated fire risk weather across a large portion of Southern New England.
