Jennifer Lawrence Movie Filming Again in Wilmington

Back in February, Wilmington played host to Hollywood with big name actors spending time in town shooting the upcoming film “Kay’s Baptism,” (aka “Joy”). After shooting earlier this month in North Reading, it appears the likes of stars Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper will be back in Wilmington for some more filming.

And while last time around it was Jennifer Lawrence making headlines, this time could we finally see the likes of De Niro and Cooper? Word around the area is De Niro was spotted grabbing a bite to eat in North Reading while filming there earlier in March.

Citing On Location Vacations a website that tracks movie and television show locations, Wilmington Apple is reporting the cast and crew are back in Wilmington from Monday, March 30 through Friday, April 3. Daily updates on the website give more information as to where filming is happening. According to the website the movie’s base camp this week is 128 West St.

Back in February, filming in town took place on Federal Street. Parts of Grant Street, Mackey Street and Flynn Way were also used for parking of equipment trucks and picture cars during each day of filming.

The movie is described as a “rags-to-riches tale about Miracle Mop inventor Joy Mangano, a Long Island single mother of three children, who became a millionaire practically overnight after launching the product on QVC in 1991. Mangano (being portrayed by Lawrence) is a fixture on the Home Shopping Network with her many inventions, though the mop was her ticket to fame and fortune. She began her inventing as a teen and kept on dreaming and tinkering while still a single mom raising three kids.”

The movie has an expected release date of Dec. 25, 2015.
