Market Basket: No Ghost In Wilmington Store
"As far as we know all of our stores are ghost-free," the supermarket chain said in a statement.

WILMINGTON, MA — Market Basket released a statement this week saying as far as the company knows, there is no ghost haunting its Wilmington store — or any other of the company's supermarkets. Last week Patch reported on a discussion among residents about seeing a ghost in the Wilmington location. The story was quickly picked up by national media.
"As far as we know all of our stores are ghost-free," Justine Griffin said in a statement to the Boston Globe. "But if there’s anything to it, she’s probably attracted to our Victorian-era prices."
Since Patch first reported on the ghost sighting last week, we have been contacted by no fewer than five groups offering paranormal investigation services to confirm whether the ghost actually exists. It's unclear if Market Basket will take those groups up on their offer.

The ghost was described as short and youngish — between the ages of 17 and 30 — with long, dark hair and light skin. She has blue eyes and was wearing Victorian-era clothing. One shopper at the Wilmington Market Basket says a ghost matching the same description used to roam her house when she lived nearby on Clark Street.
"I saw her and looked away to see if anyone else saw her and when I looked back she was gone," the Wilmington woman who started the discussion on a closed Facebook group for Wilmington residents. The woman said the sighting happened too fast for her to snap a photo.
