Massachusetts Weather: Fire Weather Warning until 6 p.m. Saturday

Dry, warm weather and gusty winds are expected to bring critical fire weather conditions throughout the day on Saturday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for Eastern Massachusetts and all of Rhode Island Saturday. The dry air and gusty winds throughout the day will produce critical fire weather conditions.

The Red Flag Warning is in effect from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday.

Central and Eastern Massachusetts, as well as all of Rhode Island is affected by this warning.

Warm temperatures, gusty winds and low humidity make up the perfect storm for potential fire weather where officials say any fires started may spread rapidly and become difficult to extinguish.

Temperatures Saturday will be in the mid-50s to low 60s. Winds are expected out of the northeast fro 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph, according to the National Weather Service. The agency also says there will be minimum relative humidity as those values could drop into the teens across the warning area.
