WILMINGTON, MA — For many of us, when we need advice, there's one person to ask: mom.

For this Mother's Day, Patch asked our readers about the best advice from their mothers. Two Wilmington readers responded.

One Wilmington Patch reader's mom had advice on what to do with your first paycheck at a new job.

On that question, advice varies. Start a retirement account, says one camp. Sit down with your pay stub and figure out a monthly budget, says another. Or just treat yourself.

"Whenever you start a new job, always blow your first paycheck!" her mother advised. "Then be responsible with all the others."
