Osram Sylvania Moving Headquarters from Danvers to Wilmington

The company plans to leave its long-time Danvers home in 2015.

Osram Sylvania announced on Wednesday that its relocating its Danvers-based headquarters to Wilmington in 2015.

Osram Sylvania, which is located at 100 Endicott St., has been a Danvers landmark for decades. Its move to 200 Ballardvale in Wilmington “will be within the technology corridor and will present enormous opportunity for the lighting leader to design the positive changes required to support the needs of the business within the transforming lighting industry. The creation of a new dynamic workplace will cultivate a fresh energizing environment that fosters innovation, focus, customer experience, learning and more. The evolution of lighting over recent years from light bulbs to lighting solutions requires the need to adapt quickly in these times of positive change,” according to a company press release.

“This move is essential to building a more agile and collaborative culture, which will help us operate with speed, deliver innovative products that customers love, and generate future growth,” said Jes Munk Hansen, president and CEO, Osram Sylvania. “All of that will help us achieve our ultimate measure of success: maintaining and expanding our industry leadership in an increasingly competitive and rapidly changing environment.

The Wilmington location will be the regional headquarters for Osram Americas. The move is set to take place in the summer 2015.

It will include closing the 54 Cherry Hill Dr., location and moving employees to Wilmington. The 71 Cherry Hill Dr., location in Beverly will be moved at a later date, according to the company.
