Selectman Special Election Scheduled For Sept. 2
Residents will elect a replacement to fill Jomarie O'Mahoney's seat until Apr. 29, 2023.
WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington will have a special election Sept. 2 to fill Jomarie O'Mahoney's vacated seat on the Board of Selectmen.
O'Mahoney resigned from the board June 14 due to a move out of town.
The selectmen voted Monday to set Sept. 2 for the election of her replacement, at the recommendation of Town Clerk Christine Touma-Conway.

The winner of the special election will serve until April 29, 2023.
Candidates have until July 12 to take out nomination papers and until July 15 to return them. Aug. 13 is the registration deadline. Polls will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Former Selectwoman Judy O'Connell has already announced her intention to run.
