UPDATED: Tewksbury Tedeschi's Robbery Suspect in Custody

Police say the suspect in the early Tuesday morning robbery may have fled toward Wilmington. Police are searching for the suspect.

TEWKSBURY, MA - Tewksbury Police have in custody the man who, armed with a hypodermic needle, robbed the Tedeschi Food Mart early Tuesday morning.

Police say at 6:37 a.m. Tuesday morning, the Tedeschi Food Mart located at 2280 Main St. was robbed. According to police, the suspect held a hypodermic needle to the clerk's neck.

The suspect was wearing a half white mask and all gray. He ran out of the store toward Salem Road heading in the direction of Wilmington.

Just after 7:30 a.m., Tewksbury Police said the suspect may have fled to Phillips Road from Tedeschi's based on a K9 track.

The suspect is described as a white male, dark hair, 5 feet 7 inches tall, medium build wearing dark gray clothing. He walked from Salem Road.
