Town Manager To Approve Outdoor Dining, Liquor Licenses
The Wilmington Selectmen voted Monday evening to temporarily delegate authority to Town Manager Jeffrey Hull.
WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington Town Manager Jeffrey Hull was granted the authority to approve temporary outdoor dining permits and liquor licenses, Monday. The liquor license authority applies to establishments that currently have them for indoor seating.
The Board of Selectmen voted to grant Hullthe authority, in an effort to expedite the process to allow local restaurants to reopen under phase two of the state's coronavirus reopening plan. Phase two, which began Monday, allows outdoor dining at restaurants.
In normal circumstances, the Board would have to approve each outdoor dining permit and liquor license.

As part of reopening from the state's coronavirus outbreak, the state allowed towns to temporarily grant liquor licenses without going through the state Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission.
