WILMINGTON, MA - Wilmington residents have been hoping for a Trader Joe's in town for some time now. Many originally hoped the former Staples location would eventually house the market, which has locations across the country. Once Savers opened, residents began suggesting the empty Walgreeen's building as a possibility. But that also may not be the case.
Wilmington Patch confirmed with Trader Joe's on Wednesday that the store many area residents have been clamoring for is not part of the company’s two-year plan for store openings.

Earlier this year a group of Wilmington residents joined together starting a social media group on Facebook one entitled “Bring Trader Joe’s to Wilmington, MA” in the hopes Trader Joe’s representatives hear their request to bring a location to that town.
And if you are thinking maybe we'll get lucky and a Trader Joe's would open next door in Tewksbury, no such luck. Trader Joe's confirmed a Tewksbury location is also not in the company's two-year store opening plan.

Trader Joe’s encourages residents in towns without one of their markets to request a location -- no guarantees, of course. There’s even an online form you can fill out to recommend a location where you’d like to see a Trader Joe’s, even right here in Tewksbury.
Trader Joe’s currently has 16 locations in Massachusetts.
