UPDATE: Wilmington Vaccine Clinic Opens To 75+ Residents

WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington's vaccine clinics at Shriners Auditorium will begin Thursday, the Health Department said Wednesday.

They will be open to all people in Phase One as well as residents over 75, the first group of Phase Two.

Registration was initially open only for Phase One residents, but eligibility expanded Wednesday afternoon.

To register, you must be a current town resident and fall into one of the following groups:

• Clinical and non-clinical health care workers doing direct and COVID-facing care
• Long term care facilities, rest homes and assisted living facilities
• First responders
• Congregate care settings
• Home-based health care workers
• Health care workers doing non-COVID-facing care
• 75 years old or older

The first clinic will be Thursday morning, 9 to 11 a.m. Newhouse said the town is planning to hold clinics at Shriners Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings, but will add more days and times when more vaccines are available.

Registration is first-come, first-serve.

Phase two vaccinations, for people 75 and older, began Monday statewide, but the supply available for local towns remains highly constrained.

Vaccines will be available at 18 CVS stores across the state beginning Feb. 11 as part of a federal effort to increase vaccine availability. Mass vaccination sites including Fenway Park began vaccinating Phase Two residents Monday.
