Upon joining a young Mystic Valley program, Turner's Eagles advanced deep into the playoffs in each of the last three seasons, and lead the team to become the first charter school to ever win an MIAA playoff game. Additionally, Turner coached the program's first player to receive a D1 offer, linebacker James LoChirco who was given offered a scholarship to attend Bryant University, according to ESPN.

Turner lead the eagles to an 8-3 season in 2016, and to the Division 4 North finals.
A quick turnaround might be just what the doctor ordered in Wilmington. The program has fallen on hard time of late, finishing with a 4-7 record in 2017. On Twitter Thursday, Turner seemed to be eager to get the ball rolling.
