The sophomores decided to raise money to build a Food for the Poor home in the Central American country, Fox25 reports. They dedicated the project in memory of Collier, a Wilmington High School Class of 2004, who was gunned down in the aftermath of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.

The group raised $3,600 to build the home in Nicaragua, which will give a family a roof over their head, Fox25 reports. So far Food for the Poor has built more than 117,000 housing units for people in need.
