Wilmington Power Restoration Efforts Continue Into Friday Night

Across its system, RMLD said 300 customers remain without power, down from a peak of 2,200.

WILMINGTON, MA -- Reading Municipal Light Department, which provides electric service to Wilmington, said Friday afternoon that repair work would continue into Friday evening as it tries to restore service to 300 customers in Wilmington, Reading, North Reading and Lynnfield that remain without power. The utility said it is prioritizing responses based on public safety. Mutual aid crews and contractors are on-site assisting with the repair and restoration efforts.

The town has opened the Buzzell Senior Center as a warming station for people still without power.
