Wilmington's Jim Murray and the Boston Rovers Heading to Beijing

The Boston Rovers will be in China next month to perform in the Meet in Beijing Folk Festival.

Members of the Boston Rovers are headed to Beijing China on May 1 to share their music. This will be Jim Murray of Wilmington’s third trip to the Meet in Beijing Folk Festival. Murray owns American Insurance Agency in Wilmington and has played in China in 2006 and 2014, as well.

“Our mission is to share our music with the people of China hoping to create a better understanding of our two countries,” Murray says.

Murray says he started out with his first group, the Jolly Rogues, which performed music from 1775 on. He formed the Boston Rovers about four years ago to broaden the group’s musical range to include Irish and folk music.
