Back-To-School Safety Fair Hits Woburn on September 23

The event will feature more than 50 emergency vehicles, ranging from fire trucks to military Humvees.

The Middlesex District Attorney's office is partnering with Lahey Health, Winchester Hospital and the Woburn Police to host a Back To School Safety Day at Kennedy Middle School at 41 Middle Street in Woburn from 10 am to 1 pm on September 23. In addition to a wide range of safety resources, the event will feature police dog demonstrations and a display of more than 50 emergency vehicles for kids to explore.

Police will also conduct child care seat inspections and installations, and parents can register their children for Amber Alert child identification kits with the Massachusetts State Police. The Boston Bruins will also be on hand to offer their BFit challenge where kids can show off their fitness skills at one of six fitness stations.

The DA's office and other community groups will set up booths to offer attendees information on a wide range of safety topics, including bullying, cyber-safety and bike safety, according to a release issued last week by Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan's office.
