Broken Equipment, Weather Cause Ugly Morning At Logan Airport
Check and re-check your flight status before heading out, as all runways were closed early Monday morning.
BOSTON, MA -- All runways at Logan International Airport were closed Monday morning, thanks to the overnight snowstorm and broken snow removal equipment. Some incoming flights were reportedly being redirected to other airports in the northeast, while outbound cancellations were starting to pile up. By midnight Sunday, more than 1,000 East Coast flights had been canceled.
Currently in a holding pattern over Boston Logan. Apparently the airport is closed to incoming aircraft. The pilot has announced we have plenty of fuel, but we may be diverted to JFK instead. Good times. We'd been talking about hitting up NYC for Alan's birthday.

Check your flight status before heading out to the airport this morning. Traffic to and from the airport is backing up, with multiple spin outs reported on highways commonly used access Logan.
