UPDATED: 'Heavy' Fire Reported At Westgate Apartments in Woburn

A fire broke out at 12 Westgate Dr. apartment complex in Woburn Tuesday evening.

As of 7 p.m., its condition was upped to a three-alarm fire. Northeast Fire Alerts reports that the flames had spread through the roof at one point, and Woburn residents were advised to avoid the area.

Initially, it was reported that the fire was in the basement, however newer information indicates a substantial blaze in the attic.

The cause of the fire was unknown as of 9:30 p.m. This post will continued to be updated when we have more information.
