How To Beat The Heatwave In Woburn

The city has opened the Senior Center for older people who need somewhere to cool down.

WOBURN, MA — It's absolutely sweltering out there, and it will be for at least a few more days.

The summer's second heatwave is in full effect, with temperatures reaching into the mid-to-high 90s on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The National Weather Service has a heat advisory in effect until Wednesday evening.

The Senior Center has opened its doors for older residents who need somewhere to cool down during business hours. Residents who want to make use of the offer should call the Senior Center at 781-897-5960 so they can set up space in an activity room.

The Senior Center is located at 144 School Street.

The Woburn Public Library is also open, as are the city's public pools.
