OBITUARY: Ann Marie Burns, 57, Lifelong Woburn Resident
Ann Marie was raised in West Woburn and graduated from WMHS in 1977.
Ann Marie Burns, a life long resident of Woburn passed away unexpectedly, early Wednesday morning, October 26th at her home. The beloved daughter of Robert and Marie (O'Connell) Burns, she was fifty seven years of age.
Born in Somerville, Ann Marie was raised over in the West Side of Woburn and educated in Woburn, schools, graduating from Woburn High School, with the Class of 1977. Following high school Ann Marie continued on to what is now Lowell University and was the proud recipient of a Bachelor of Science Degree. In pursuit of further education and focusing on software engineering, Ann Marie received her Masters Degree in Engineering, which provided her an exceptional professional career.
Ann Marie's reputation preceded her in the area of software engineering. Lincoln Labs was her first place of employment, then to Ford Aerospace Program, Consultant for the Fortune 500 Companies, served as an officer at the Bank of Boston, went on to work at Monster.com, Vista Print and for the last several years at Cartera Commerce in Lexington. Her area of expertise in software engineering, kept her busy, challenged and able to share her knowledge and always performing at the top of her profession.

Ann Marie had a wonderful passion for New England. Traveling to Maine with friends, finding wonderful beaches along the coast to spend time, out to Tanglewood , visiting the mountains in New Hampshire and the ski slopes of Vermont. Summer, winter, fall or spring anytime was the right time to venture out!
Holidays were always a speciality of Ann Marie's. She loved the festivities, decorating, preparation for all the holidays, always giving great thought and attention to it all.

Ann Marie was always there before you even knew you needed her! Always doing and thinking of others first then tending to her own needs. Very cheerful in her demeanor she had a great ability of knowing an awful lot, about an awful lot of things. Ann Marie enjoyed conversing with friends and family and they were always interesting, informative and full of fun facts!
Ann Marie's huge heart and very thoughtful ways endeared her to many. There was not a mean bone in her body or even a negative thoughts that she would express. Truly a wonderful woman, who saw the absolute best in everyone, has left a legacy that her family and friends can be very honored by and oh so proud of.
