One In Five Woburn Residents Have Gotten At Least 1 Vaccine Dose
The state's plan to prioritize the most vulnerable residents is showing in Woburn, where seniors have received the most vaccinations.

WOBURN, MA — Twenty-two percent of the town's nearly 36,000 residents have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine, according to new state data released Thursday.
The statewide figure is also 22 percent.
The state's vaccine rollout prioritizing the most vulnerable residents is bearing fruit in Woburn, where those 65 or older have received the majority of vaccinations. Sixty-six percent of those 75 or older have received at least one dose and 35 percent of them are fully vaccinated.

Forty-seven percent of those 65-74 have received at least one dose while 13 percent are fully vaccinated.
Overall, 9,008 of 41,525 residents in Woburn have received at least one dose and 4,670 are fully vaccinated — 11 percent of the population.

The data also includes vaccination rates by race, ethnicity and sex for each city and town, as well as by zip code.
In Woburn, multi-racial residents have been vaccinated at the highest rate: 14 percent have been fully vaccinated. Just 3 percent of Hispanic residents have been fully vaccinated; 11 percent of white residents, 10 percent of Black residents and 4 percent of Asian residents have.
The Department of Public Health also released town-by-town coronavirus metrics, which showed a slight reversal in Woburn after weeks of decline. The positive test rate rose to 2.5 percent.
