Woburn Can't Hold On For Win, Falls To Masconomet 20-17

Woburn saw a three-point lead erased when Masconomet scored with no time remaining in the fourth quarter to advance in Division 2 North.

BOXFORD, MA -- The Woburn High School football team was eliminated from the Division 2 North football tournament in the most heartbreaking way possible Friday night, when Masconomet Quarterback Matt Brockleman connected with Dan Monagle for a nine-yard touchdown pass with no time left. The touchdown gave fourth-seeded Masconomet (6-2) a 20-17 come-from-behind victory and a date with top-seeded Lincoln Sudbury, which beat Reading 35-0, in next week's second round.

The back-and-forth game featured six lead changes. Woburn (4-4) got rushing touchdowns from Dilaver Ibrahim and Isaiah Cashwell-Doe, as well as a 25-yard field goal by Ryan Qualey.
