Woburn Coronavirus Update: 25 Total Cases, 4 Out Of Isolation

The city currently has 19 people in isolation. Four have recovered, while two residents died of the new virus.

WOBURN, MA — Woburn has had 25 confirmed coronavirus cases, as of Monday afternoon. Nineteen residents are currently in isolation. Four recovered and are out of isolation, while two residents died.

The city also has 30 people in quarantine due to potential coronavirus exposure. Thirty-one residents have been taken out of quarantine.

Mayor Scott Galvin reported the two deaths Saturday.

"An 89-year-old resident passed away last night and a 92-year-old resident passed away this morning. Both were beloved mothers and grandmothers and will be deeply missed by their families," Galvin said. "I have been in contact with the relatives of both residents, and I offer my deepest condolences. I ask that everyone respects the privacy of the families during this
time."

The city did not identify the two residents.

"These are the first deaths in our community caused by this awful illness, and we are saddened that it has taken someone from two separate families less than one day apart," Galvin continued.
