Woburn Football Coach Rocky Nelson Honored By New England Patriots
Nelson and his team will be featured on WBZ-TV's "Patriots All Access" this Friday after earning coach of the week honors.

After defeating Wilmington Friday night by a score of 35-6, Woburn High School’s head football coach, Rocky Nelson, was named “High School Coach of the Week” by the New England Patriots.
In victory, Nelson earned his 200th career victory as coach of the Tanners. Nelson has been calling the shots for the program since 1980.

Ex-Patriot and Hall of Fame linebacker Andre Tippet visited Nelson and the Woburn football team on Monday to award the coach with the honorable distinction. The visit will be featured on “Patriots All Access,” which airs on Friday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. on WBZ-TV.
The Patriots are in their 20th years of conducting the High School Coach of the Week program. The team’s charitable foundation will donate $1,000 to Woburn Memorial High School’s football program in Nelson’s name in recognition of his Coach of the Week selection.

“The Tanners are lucky to have such a dedicated leader for their football program, and I’m sure the team was excited to help Coach Nelson reach this impressive milestone,” Tippett said.
