Woburn High Football Coach Reaches Milestone Victory

Rocky Nelson earned his 200th career win as coach of the Tanners Friday night.

The head coach of the Woburn High School football team reached an illustrious career milestone this past Friday night with a win over Wilmington.

Tanners coach Rocky Nelson earned his 200th career win as his team snapped a four-game losing skid with a 35-6 victory.

“For me, the 200 wins means I’ve coached here for a long time and have been very fortunate to have a great staff, great players, a tremendous administration and great support from the community,” Nelson told the Boston Herald.

Nelson had been coaching the team since 1980.

The Tanners are 3-6 on the season with two games left to play. They face Winchester in their annual Thanksgiving Day showdown.
