Woburn High Gyms Go Green, Save $17K
LED light bulbs were installed to replace the old ones at Woburn Memorial High School's gyms last month.

Woburn Memorial High School just got a little greener, and the city is saving a couple of bucks for the effort, according to a statement from the city.
High efficiency LED lights were installed to replace 76 old lights in both the school’s gymnasiums back in May. A post from the city’s website states that the change-up could save the taxpayers a little more than $17,000 each year going forward.
The old bulbs - installed during the building’s construction in 2006 - needed to be changed once every nine months. The new bulbs, the city says, may last as long as 20 years each.
