Woburn Man Arrested After Accidental Shooting: Authorities

Media reports said Alec Augustino Braz was showing off his new gun​ when he accidentally shot his friend.

WOBURN, MA — A 22-year-old Woburn man faces charges after reportedly shooting his friend by accident at a home gathering.

Police responded to a shooting at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. There were three people in a room when a gun went off, hitting one of the other people in the neck, according to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Woburn Police Chief Robert Rufo

WCVB reported the accidental discharge came as Alec Augustino Braz was showing off his new gun to friends.

Braz was arrested and faces charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing bodily injury, improper storage of a firearm and discharging a firearm within 500-feet of a dwelling.
