Woburn To Offer Expanded Outdoor Seating As Reopening Continues

The city sent applications to restaurants to temporarily expand outdoor seating, allowed during phase two of the state reopening, Monday.

WOBURN, MA — Woburn will offer temporary permits to expand outdoor seating to the city's restaurants, Mayor Scott Galvin said Sunday.

Under the second phase of the state's reopening, outdoor dining at restaurants will be permitted across the state beginning Monday.

The city sent applications to local restaurants to temporarily expand seating on areas like patios, decks, lawns and even restaurant-owned parking areas. The city has not finalized requirements yet for use of city parking and sidewalks.

A variety of other businesses are allowed to reopen beginning Monday, including retailers, childcare facilities and day camps, libraries and malls. All are under strict regulations to limit the spread of the virus.
