Woburn Schools Closed Thursday, But No Snow Emergency

You don't have to go to school and you don;t have to move your car off the street,

WOBURN, MA -- Woburn Public Schools are closed all day Thursday. The city did not, however, declare a snow emergency which would have necessitated the removal of cars from on-street parking spots.

Some school events that had been postponed Wednesday because of the storm have been rescheduled. they include:

  • The Woburn High School boys and girls basketball teams will now play their tournament doubleheader against Belmont on Thursday instead of Wednesday. The games will still be at 5:30 and 7:30 pm but have been pushed back a day because of the predicted snowstorm.
  • Woburn Memorial High School has rescheduled parent-teacher conference that were to have been held Wednesday. The new date for the conferences is March 15 from 2 to 4 pm.
  • On Monday, a meeting on school safety that had been scheduled for Wednesday was postponed. The new date for the meeting, where law enforcement representatives will discuss school safety measures, is March 13 at 7 pm at Woburn Memorial High School.
