Woburn actor Kevin Cirone will appear in the world premiere of bare stage, a new work by award-winning Boston Playwright Michael Walker to run February 8-March 2, 2019 at Plaza Theatre at the Boston Center for the Arts (539 Tremont Street, Boston 02116). This new work centers on the difficulties and arguments surrounding the writing, production and performance of plays with nudity. Through the eyes of two actresses who are asked to perform without clothes in a new play bound for Broadway, bare stage raises issues of censorship, artistic freedom, objectification, exploitation and simple morality in plays calling for nudity. bare stage is directed by A. Nora Long. Tickets available now at www.bostontheatrescene.com.

bare stage will feature Woburn’s Kevin Cirone* as “Parker”, the ‘rising star’ playwright/director, who clashes with the actors around the issues of nudity in his production. Also featuring IRNE Award nominee Ashley Risteen as “Kate” and Allie Meek-Carufel as “Rachel”, two very different actresses whose friendship, personal lives and values are tested when they are both cast in the chorus of men and women in Parker’s new play; they will be actors who must appear naked throughout the performance. Rounding out the cast are Glen Moore, as Kate’s boyfriend “Tim,” and Steve Auger as Kate’s protective Irish father, “Paddy.”
Kevin Cirone’s previous credits include Shipwrecked! An Entertainment, Twelfth Night, and The 39 Steps (Moonbox Productions), Running In Circles Screaming (Titanic Theater Company), Dusty And The Big Bad World (Martha's Vineyard Playhouse), Stupid F###Ing Bird (Apollinaire Theatre), Creative License (New York Fringe), Big Fish (Umbrella Theater), It's A Wonderful Life (Ocean State Theater Company), and The Secret Garden (Greater Boston Stage Company).
