MICHIGAN — A community in West Michigan is dealing with a suspected cat killer after residents have claimed to find several mutilated bodies of cats around town.

Allegan residents said several cats have been found mutilated in the last few weeks, according to WWMT, fueling rumors of a cat killer in the area.

Melissa Gilbert, manager of a Shell gas station in Allegan, told WWMT that a man found a mutilated cat’s body in a bag while searching the dumpster for cans and bottles.

The rural area is not under surveillance though. Allegan is a town of fewer than 5,000 residents between Holland and Kalamazoo.
