This Kroger Is Spotlighting Michigan Products May 18

From craft beers to specialty foods made in the Mitten, this Kroger location is showcasing the best of Michigan products this season.

BRIGHTEN, MI – Just in time for the summer picnic and party season, Kroger will showcase some of Michigan’s finest foods and adult beverages during its annual Experience Local Event on Saturday, May 18.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. at the Brighton Kroger store, and more than 30 suppliers will offer samples of Michigan-made products ranging from ice cream and hot dogs to deli salads, pies and Middle Eastern foods.

“The Experience Local Event is always a fun time that provides consumers the opportunity to sample delicious and sometimes unique foods available from local farmers and companies and to meet the people who provide these quality products,”

said Rachel Hurst, corporate affairs manager, The Kroger Co. of Michigan. “All products that will be sampled are available on our Kroger store shelves every day.”

During the event, Steve’s Mediterranean Chef will grill products on the porch (weather permitting) and Sanders Bumpy Cakes will offer samples from a huge on-site Bumpy cake. Other suppliers and products will include the following:

“Most shoppers realize the benefits of buying local products, including support for area farm families and Michigan’s economy,” Hurst said. “Kroger is pleased to be able to gather so many quality products for our guests to sample during this year’s Experience Local event.”

Kroger’s Brighton store is located at 9968 E. Grand River Ave. Brighton, MI 48116. Sampling and meet-and-greets with producers and company representatives will continue until 2 p.m.
