Macomb County Man Gets Shot After Assaulting Gas Station Clerk
The man is in the hospital suffering from at least five gunshot wounds and now faces two counts of assault.
MACOMB COUNTY, MI — A 30-year-old Shelby Township faces criminal charges after a gas station assault that ended with him in the hospital with at least five gunshot wounds.
Police say the man walked into Mobil gas station at Hall and Heydenreich roads in Macomb Township on Dec. 7 and grabbed a liquor bottle and began assaulting the clerks.
One of the clerks, a 28-year-old Macomb Township man with a concealed pistol license, shot the man several times to stop the attack, police said.

The suspect has gunshot wounds to his abdomen, neck, left chest, right armpit, and a graze to his head, police said, and he remains hospitalized.
The Macomb County Sheriff's Office announced that he would face two assault charges from the incident.

Police said that earlier the same day, Macomb County Sheriff deputies were called to another business on Hall Road in Macomb Township for the same man acting suspicious. But, when they arrived and located the suspect, he had not committed any criminal actions, police said. He was told to leave the business and complied, they added.
Authorities are continuing to investigate.
