Pouring Rain, Widespread Flooding Ahead In Metro Detroit
The weekend forecast includes rain each day and flood warnings in these regions of Metro Detroit.
METRO DETROIT, MI — It's going to be a wet weekend ahead.
The forecast predicts pouring rain several days this weekend and that could cause widespread flooding in some regions.
According to the National Weather Service, an extended period of rain from Friday through Saturday may produce widespread rain amounts of around 3 inches with some locally higher amounts. This amount of rain on mainly frozen ground will produce very high runoff.

Widespread flooding of various intensities of roads, low lying areas, rivers and creeks is likely, forecasters said. People who live in flood prone areas should monitor forecast for further updates and alerts and begin preparing for possible flooding.
Lakeshore flood warnings are in effect in St. Clair and Macomb counties, along with Sanilac.

Rain, mainly after 1am. Temperature rising to around 44 by 1am. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 15 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Rain. High near 48. South wind 6 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
