Alleyways, Roads Slated For Construction In Dearborn This Season

Dearborn's alleyways and roads are slated for a makeover this season.

DEARBORN, MI — Spring is in the air and that means construction projects are underway. The City of Dearborn is in the midst of reconstructing its alleyways in East Dearborn and repairing some parts of the roadway West Dearborn, so be prepared for some orange cones this spring and smoother surfaces by late summer. Scheduled for repair this season are 650 paved locations around the city and 200 sidewalks, the city said.

Here’s some of the select alleyways in east Dearborn that are scheduled for replacement starting this spring (dependent upon inspection and assessment of the sewer lines):

  • East of Schaefer between Alber and Donald
  • West of Schaefer between Diversey and Gould
  • West of Schaefer between Warren and Gould
  • West of Schaefer between Henson and Blesser
  • West of Schaefer between Haggerty and Henson
  • North of Michigan between Horger and Maple
  • North of Michigan between Middlesex and Horger
  • North of Michigan between Schlaff and Roemer
  • South of Michigan between Roemer and Schlaff
  • West of Michigan; East of Lois

Additional alleyways and streets will be repaired late summer in east Dearborn as well.

Garrison Street is also slated for reconstruction this summer, from Monroe to Brady streets. This should start at the end of August and be completed by the end of October as to not interfere with the city’s annual Homecoming festival at the beginning of the August.
