Dearborn Basketball Team Wins National Championship

Time to celebrate these Dearborn athletes.

DEARBORN, MI — Some young athletes are representing the city in a great way. DBA Drive, the Dearborn Basketball Association’s age 17 and under travel team, took top honors at the American Youth Basketball Tour’s Boys Grades 10-12 Division 1 National Championship Tournament last month in Indianapolis, Indiana.

DBA Drive posted a perfect 5-0 ledger in the three-day tournament, besting a team from New Jersey, 63-52, in the title tilt.

Pictured (back row, left to right) are Dan Loudon, Caleb Smith, Alex Potts, Jack Melton, Jack Kristensen, Brendan Rousseau, Kyler Owenby (assistant coach) Jaylen Washington, Jason Bass (head coach) an unidentified game official and Brandon Bacon Sr. (assistant coach). Kneeling in the front row are Brandon Bacon Jr. and Niemer Hamood. Not pictured is Trevor Delaney.
