Dearborn Hosts New Farm-To-Table Dining Event

DEARBORN, MI — A special fundraiser in Dearborn will showcase the city’s culinary talent in a way that celebrates community.

Organizers say Dearborn's first Farm-to-Table FUNDinner event will be an outdoor dining experience that showcases Dearborn restaurants and chefs, including a main course prepared by Junior Merino of the popular M Cantina.

“The event is a platform for food merchants, Dearborn businesses and community members to show the world that regardless of ancestral background, race or religion, we can come together and break bread,” said Maria Marzolo Darany, event chair.

The event takes place 6-9 p.m. June 15 on West Village Drive between Mason Street and Monroe Street in Downtown Dearborn, adjacent to new green space backdrop of Wagner Park.

Event attendees will enjoy a five-course culinary experience with locally sourced foods and complimentary wine pairings.

The event also marks the city of Dearnorn’s 90th birthday so 1920’s attire is encouraged as part of the celebration.

“Downtown Dearborn has a deep bench of culinary talent. This event provides an opportunity to taste and appreciate the innovation of our food culture,” said Cristina Sheppard-Decius, Downtown Development Authorities’ executive director. “The Farm-to-Table FUNDinner offers a new way friends and neighbors to gather in celebration of Dearborn.”

The event aims to offer a unique dining experience in the city, just in time for the community's birthday, but funds raised will and to benefit Downtown Dearborn's community events, organizers said.
