SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGAN — More flash flood warnings are in effect for Southeastern Michigan on Thursday.

A Flood Watch remains in effect from Thursday until Friday morning for areas that include Wayne, Washtenaw, Oakland, Monroe, Macomb and Lenawee counties.

The National Weather Service said recent rainfall of 1-3 inches across portions of the greater Detroit metro region south to the Ohio border has resulted in saturated ground, with runoff further limited by area rivers and streams close to bankfull or near flood.

Additional heavy rainfall is again possible late this afternoon through tonight as another wave of low pressure moves across the region, according to meteorologists.

Rainfall amounts in excess of 1 inch will be possible, leading to renewed flooding potential of rural and urban areas, the warning says.
