Here are some of the images from Dearborn Heights, where officials hope to declare a state of emergency as floods trap residents.

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI -- Rain pelted Metro Detroit into Wednesday morning, causing flash flooding that poured into basements, trapped residents and disabled vehicles. Roads were closed down and shelters were open in city's where the flooding hit residents the hardest, such as in Dearborn Heights.
