Detroit Youth Choir To Have Homecoming Celebration After 'AGT'

Here's how you can get in on the fun celebrating the success of the Detroit Youth Choir on 'America's Got Talent.'

DETROIT, MI — Detroit is hosting a homecoming celebration for the now famed Detroit Youth Choir and the community is invited to the free event.

The city of Detroit, the Downtown Detroit Partnership and WDIV-Local 4 will throw a homecoming celebration for the "America’s Got Talent” finalists on Friday at Campus Martius Park in Downtown Detroit.

  • Hosted by Local 4 News anchor Kimberly Gill
  • FREE and open to the public

The celebration will honor the 52 students, music director Anthony White, and the Detroit Youth Choir community as they return home after a stellar run on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” WDIV said.

Tuesday night was their final performance where they competed against nine other acts for one million dollars and a chance to headline at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. Results of the nationwide audience vote will be revealed Wednesday night during the “America’s Got Talent” two-hour season finale beginning at 8 p.m. on WDIV-Local 4

The choir is part of the nonprofit Detroit Youth Concert Choir & Performing Arts Company, which helps young people ages 8 to 18, discover and perform music, theatre and dance.
