Expect Blowing Snow, 40 MPH Winds In Wednesday's Commute
A Winter Weather Advisory is winding down, but leaving roadways covered with intensifying winds.

METRO DETROIT, MI — A Winter Weather Advisory is winding down across metro Detroit but may make for a hazardous rush hour commute Wednesday evening, according to forecasters.
The hazardous weather outlook is in effect for Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston and Washtenaw counties until 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Bands of lake effect snow showers will continue to impact areas between the M-59 and I-94 corridors into the afternoon hours, the National Weather Service predicts. Some of these snow showers will be locally intense and capable of dropping visibilities to a half mile or less.

“Travel will be locally very hazardous due to rapidly dropping visibilities in snow showers and snow covered roadways,” the warning says.
Additional accumulations of up to an inch will be possible, with peak snowfall rates up to 1 inch per hour. Blowing snow will also be possible outside of snow shower activity with gusts of 30 to 40 mph.
